This underground exhibition presents a fragment of medieval Krakow, uncovered during archaeological research in 2005–2010, which has been visited by almost 4 million people by 2020. It tells the story of the Main Market Square from the 10th century – from a cemetery and craftsmen's settlement destroyed by the Mongols in 1241 to the founding of the city in 1257. The exhibition shows the Market Square as a centre of trade and craftsmanship, presenting relics of buildings, the foundations of the Cloth Hall and numerous medieval monuments discovered during excavations.

Estimated time of the visit: 75 min.
